The Wigston Band, formed in 1902, is a family friendly band based in South Leicestershire. The band is a registered charity, performing many concerts across the county and raising money for a number of good causes. For example, we have recently teamed up with Loros to perform at their marathon events and twilight carol services. We encourage organisations to get in contact with us to see what fund raising we can do together.
The Band enjoys working hard and playing in various contests at a high level. We currently have a playing strength of around 30 with ages of the players ranging from thirteen to ‘seventy something’, but, any new faces are welcome at any rehearsal for a mixture of fun, hard work and friendship.
Rehearsals
We rehearse on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8.00pm – 10.00pm at
South Wigston Congregational Church.
